Coco Jumbo

Frivolous simplicity and a hand full of coco pops

An original twist on a classic cocktail, the Coco Jumbo in it’s frivolous simplicity is a white russian topped with Coco Pops. What started as a joke on a friend of Carl’s when he worked at the Oakroom, has become an unlikely pre-batched stable on the Barking Dog drinks menu.

7 cl pre-batched White Russian Mix
(1 bottle of Virtuous Vodka, 1 bottle Kahlua, 250 cl espresso)
10 cl milk (1/3 cream and 2/3 whole milk)

Served over ice in “low ball” (rocks glass) garnished with a handfull of Coco Pops on top and a tea spoon to scoop them up.

For it’s naive and playfull presentation, the Coco Jumby is a genuinely delicious cocktail, albeit on the sweet side. The pre-batched, espresso, vodka and Kahlua mix makes for a delicous White Russian in itself, and the rich and milky taste works well with the sweet chrunchiness of Coco Pops. Additionally, there is something satisfyingly decadent about ”eating” your cocktail with a spoon from a low ball glass, enjoying the mix of judgemental and envious looks from your fellow patrons.

Like it’s namesake summerhit by Mr. President, the Coco Jumbo is an absolutely  whimsical indulgence for a whimsical night and all the better for it!
