No.52 - a mouth watering aquavit cocktail made with Lysholm No.52 botanical aquavit.

No.52 is an aquavit interpretation of “#4” – an iconic gin based contemporary classic created by Hardeep Singh Rehal as a signature cocktail for the cocktail bar 1105.

For “No.52” the base spirit is exchanged with Lysholm’s new botanical aquavit and freshly ground coriander seeds are used instead of pepper for garnish.

No.52 - a mouth watering aquavit cocktail made with Lysholm No.52 botanical aquavit.5 cl No.52 Lysholm Aquavit
3 cl lime
3 cl acacia honey*
2-3 cardamom pods
Coriander seeds

Muddle the cardamom pods. Shake all ingredients except the coriander seeds and fine strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with freshly grinded coriander seeds.

*Mix the honey 2:1 with sugar syrup to make it pourable.

No.52 is a good example of how aquavit can be used as an alternative to gin – it’s a heavenly mix as is the original gin based #4.

The botanicals and the caraway backbone of the aquavit distillate marries perfectly with the sour-sweet cardamom mix. The coriander seeds provide some lightly spiced citrus aroma and ties in nicely with the orange peel notes of the botanical aquavit.

No.52 is featured in our little free e-booklet with 9 delicious aquavit cocktails which are easy to make with few ingredients.

I believe that true mastery eventually leads to original creation given the right conditions. I love creative cocktails that push the limits of flavor pairing. But I can't deny I have a personal preference for whisky and love everything that is clear and stirred.
