El Cartel

Who cares about the story?

Anže Pihler made El Cartel years ago. He doesn’t even remember how he came up with it, but it has stayed with him through the years and is now proudly featured on the menu at Atze Peng. That’s often a stamp of quality – enduring the test of time. So who cares if the story is forgotten and the name can’t be explained? When the mix is this good, it really doesn’t matter much!

5 cl Reposado tequila
1,5 cl agave syrup
1/2 blood orange
2,5 cl lime juice
2 dashes orange flower water

Muddle the blood orange. shake all ingredients. Serve in a champagne or cocktail glass. Garnish with a lime twist.

We all know that lime and tequila is a match made in heaven. With agave syrup and the sweet tart bitterness of a blood orange it gets even better. This cocktail will make you swoon.

CoC's photographer and occasional writer. I enjoy cocktail photography almost as much as cocktail imbibery. I try to do the drinks justice by making them appear as appealing to the eye as they are to the mouth and nose. I have a weakness for gins and I'm fond of bitter stuff as well, but I'll enjoy a good rum, bourbon or whisky if I'm forced. :)
