When whisky sours and negronis are not enough…

You love your whisky sours and the occasional negroni, but sometimes you are split between the two. If you feel like trying something new yet recognisable, Lidkoebs twist on the contemporary classic “paper plane” comes in handy.  With some Four Roses bourbon and and a bit of Aperol you’ll get your dose of American corn and Italian bitters in a lemon and rhubarb infused version.

4 cl Four Roses yellow label
1,5 cl Aperol
1 cl Gran Classico bitter
1,5 cl lemon juice
1 cl simple syrup

Shake hard with ice, serve in cocktail glass.

“Papirflyveren” was featured on Lidkoebs second menu but has popped up again recently as the zesty orange and tart pink grapefruit of the Aperol works wonders with the woody vanilla qualities of the Four Roses bourbon.

I believe that true mastery eventually leads to original creation given the right conditions. I love creative cocktails that push the limits of flavor pairing. But I can't deny I have a personal preference for whisky and love everything that is clear and stirred.
